A Gorgeous Day in the Mojave

Another gorgeous day in the Mojave. We had nearly 70 degree weather with no clouds in the sky...it was perfect. Augustus and I went on a trail ride with some friends, and then enjoyed a nice bath and roll in the sand afterwards. This is probably the warmest "winter" day we have had all season, and Gus was all smiles. He has turned into the perfect trail horse. :)

Stone Cabin (NV) # 1960

This Mustang is no doubt one of Gus' relatives. I have seen a few horses come through from the Saulsbury HMA and Stone Cabin HMA gather of '07, but never have I been so certain of any relation. This gelding is definitely a "Stone Cabin Grey".

The New Year

It has been a great start to the new year. Augustus is happy and healthy, and with a break in the strong winds and a hiatus of the rain and snow, we have been venturing out and enjoying ourselves. Nice long walks, time in the saddle, and lounging in the sand. You will find no complaints here.
